Another look at Mummy Cave

After looking at Bill's picture, I went through my shots and came up with this one. C & C welcome.

Post Workshop Work

While this photo was not taken during the course, nor by any of us- this is how Jon, Chuck and I spent Tuesday PM after leaving the group--discussing what we had learned and accomplished at de Chelly Canyon and Monument Valley-a delightful conclusion to a great week. MCL46
My initial attempt at HDR in PS CS5. I have been spending my time getting familiar with CS5 -hoping to start sorting the photos from the course this weekend and processing some of them. MCL46

Just started sorting...

Wow, I really like the photos posted so far. It's great to see everyone's take on the places we visited. I was intrigued by Alain's pano technique so I gave it a try. I was suprised how easily the photo came together.

Looking forward to more posts,

Chuck

Sometimes you don't know what you have captured in your photographs until you look at them later. That was certainly the case here.

Only when I got back and started processing the photos taken during the trip did I notice (thanks to Jackie pointing it out!) what appeared to be a face looking back at me from the ruins! And was that a tear falling from the left eye? Now that's all I see when I look at the photo. But maybe it's not apparent to everyone, hope you can make it out!

Continuing to work with desaturation/tint/B&W of various elements of the image; re composition: here accentuated the foreground by placement/color of the flowers, framed by vertical line of the rock ledge, which then leads the eye to the scrub brush and arroyo, on to the matching vertical line of the distant hills/horizon/sky.

In the past I have not used the B&W adjustment layer much, but the workshop inspired me to start experimenting!
